Morocco Oil & Gas 2014 Summit

Whilst oil and gas exploitation began early in 1923, Morocco’s oil and gas reserves remain relatively underexplored. Geographically, Morocco is positioned close to other important oil and gas producing countries such as Algeria, Libya and Egypt; countries that present consistent oil-rich geological characteristics. The favorable free trade agreements and recent seismic data studies combined with the geostrategic location in the crossroads of Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, portray Morocco as the new investment hub for oil and gas especially in recent years, and the growing interest of oil companies in the region are strongly indicative of the potential within the hydrocarbon assets and reserves in Morocco.
 
The Morocco Oil & Gas 2014 Summit, taking place on the 7th-8th May in Marrakech, will address a number of key issues, such as the geological landscape onshore and offshore Morocco, the new oil and gas governmental strategy, the legal framework, the international opening approach and more. For the first time, a senior-level platform will be dedicated entirely to Morocco to highlight the country’s untapped potential and reinforce its image of an emerging hydrocarbon market.
